Pusher killed in Laguna clash

Combined operatives of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Regional Office 4-A (PRO 4-A) and Calauan police killed a drug pusher and recovered P600,000 worth of shabu while his companion escaped during armed confrontation in Bgy. Dayap, Calauan, Laguna, yesterday morning.

Calabarzon police director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza identified the slain suspect as a certain alias “Marlon Bakla”, of Bgy. Dayap, Calauan. His unidentified companion escaped.

Operatives of RDEU led by Insp.  Ed Pacana and Chief Insp. Rolly Liegen, OIC Calauan police chief, were conducting anti-illegal drug operation which resulted in death of the suspect in an armed encounter.

Around 4 a.m. yesterday, a policeman acted as poseur-buyer tried to strike a deal with the suspect, however, he sensed the presence of the police operatives.

The suspect pulled a firearm and fired at the lawmen, triggering a firefight that caused his death. The other suspect escape on a motorcycle.

After the firefight, police recovered at the crime scene heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 150 grams worth P600,000.
