OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 3 (CIDG-3) arrested a suspected pusher who yielded a loaded gun and shabu in Concepcion, Tarlac Firday.
Col. Amante Daro, CIDG-3 regional chief,identified the arrested suspect as Melquides Santos, alias “Bakbak”, of legal age, alleged leader of the Santos Criminal Gang under File No. RFU3- 2020-05-018 of CIDG-3 which is involved in gunrunning and illegal drug peddling activities in various parts of Central Luzon.
The suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tinang around 7:30 p.m. of May 29.
He was placed under arrest after handing over to the poseur-buyer a sachet of shabu in exchange for P1,000.
Confiscated from his possession were a cal. .45 Shooter pistol with a magazine loaded with five live ammunition, six heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystal substance suspected to be shabu, and the marked peso bill used in the operation.
The CIDG-3 operatives were supported by Tarlac provincial and Concepcion municipal police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
It was learned that Santos has a standing alias warrant of arrest for the crime of Murder and Frustrated Murder with CC# 12-0334 to 35 docketed at Regional Trial Court Branch 58, Angeles City.
He also has two other cases filed against him – at Branch 1 and 3 of Municipal Trial Court in Angeles City for two counts of slight physical injury and Intriguing against Honor with CC# 10-4870 to 71 and CC# 10-4757.
Meanwhile, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., with the assistance of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) operatives and officers of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), raided an illegal Chinese pharmacy in the tourist area of Barangay Anunas in the city last Thursday.
“An illegal underground medical facility in Korean Town, Barangay Anunas was shut down on May 28, 2020, as Mayor Lazatin Jr., in coordination with NBI, FDA and PNP raided the makeshift medical facility, where two Chinese nationals were arrested,” the city information office said in its Facebook post.
