Quezon City Police District-Police Station 10 nabs notorious snatcher on 4th try

Authorities arrested a notorious snatcher after a fourth try in Quezon City.

QCPD director Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr.  identified the suspect as Alfie Malabasco, 37, of Taguig City.

Report said that at about 7:50 p.m. Thursday, victim Rowena Bernardo was walking along K3rd Street near corner KD St., Bgy. Kamuning, when Malabasco suddenly appeared from behind on a motorcycle and grabbed her shoulder bag and fled towards Judge Jimenez Street.

BPSOs who were patrolling near the area saw the incident and immediately sought assistance from the police who immediately responded and chased the suspect.

Upon reaching E. Rodriguez Ave. corner Betty Go St. corner Aurora Blvd., Bgy. Kaunlaran, Cubao, the suspect lost control of his motorcycle and fell down, resulting in his arrest.

Confiscated from the suspect was a bag containing cellphone, Nova 3i worth P18,000, Bible, eyeglasses and a bladed weapon.

Bernardo positively identified the suspect as the same person who grabbed her bag.

Malabasco was allegeldy responsible for three recent other robbery snatching incidents reported in the area of PS 10. He was brought to the police station and will be charged with robbery.
