Quezon cops collar 3 men for selling marijuana

LUCENA CITY— Joint police teams yesterday collared three men for selling dried leaves of marijuana during a drug- buy bust operation at Purok Pag-asa, Brgy. Gulang gulang, here.

Col. Ramil Montilla, the Quezon police director identified the nabbed suspects as Christian Quinto, alias Aykie, 27, Stephen Moreno, alias Scottie, 33, and Darwin Magpantay, alias Pukol, 21, all residents of said village.

Montilla said the drug bust was carried out by operatives of Provincial Intelligence Branch and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit under Lt. Col. Julio  Go with the assistance of Lucena City Drug Enforcement Unit at 1:45 a.m. yesterday.

Seized from the suspects were 52 zip- locked transparent plastic sachets containing dried Marijuana leaves, three Marijuana bricks and a marked P1000 bill.

Montilla said the accounting of seized pieces of evidence was witnessed by Barangay Council-men Reynato De Guzman and Michael Yap  and media representative Tony Sandoval.

Weighing 1.019.19 kilo grams, the official said the contraband has a DDB value of P50, 959.5.

He said the  suspects will be charged with violations of Section 5 and 11 in relation to section 26 (b) of Article II of Republic Act 9165 .
