LUCENA CITY -- For his exceptional and outstanding performance, Police Major General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar has been chosen as one of the seven Quezon Medalya ng Karangalan (QMK) awardees.
A true-blooded Quezonian, Eleazar is a native of Tagkawayan town belonging to a prominent and well-respected family.
Eleazar who is fondly called “Guillor” by relatives and friends, now watches over the country’s premier and crime-ridden region being the commander of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
NCRPO has the operational control over Manila Police District, Quezon City Police District, Southern, Northern, Western and Eastern Police Districts.
Before he was named NCRPO chief by Philippine National Police chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde, Eleazar was the director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Police Regional Office-Calabarzon.
It’s only during his stint as NCRPO chief that the command was adjudged as the Best Police Regional Office.
Eleazar who belongs to Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Hinirang Class of 1987, is the leading contender to replace Albayalde who is set to retire from the police service in November.
Eleazar who was chosen as Quezon Medalya ng Karangalan awardee for police service along with six other distinguished Quezonians, will receive the prestogious award during this year’s Quezon Day Celebration on Monday.
