DAVAO City Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte denounced the use of his name for free food from restaurants.
Duterte urged restaurant owners to immediately report to the police any extortion attempt using his name.
According to the presidential son, he received information and complaints that some people are using his name in asking for food and drinks in some restaurants.
“It has come to my attention that some individuals have been using my name in their deceitful activities,” the vice mayor said.
“A couple of restaurants called my office informing me of incidents involving people who fooled them into believing they were me — ordering food and demanding expensive drinks from the owners,” said Duterte.
“It’s unfortunate that a number of restaurants have fallen victims to individuals who were apparently out to pull off some injurious pranks on them using my name,” he added.
He urged the public to be constantly wary and to practice caution in dealing with individuals who present themselves as his representatives.
“If you sense that something is suspicious, please go to the nearest police station to report,” the youngest son of President Rodrigo Duterte said.
