A 35-year-old Grab driver was shot to death in Nasugbu town while relaxing at the beach shoreline by a resort guest police believed high on drugs, provincial police PIO chief Capt. Hazel L. Suarez said the other day.
A report to Batangas police director Col Edwin A. Quilates by the Nasugbu Municipal Police Station commander Major Ronald P. Cayago identified the victim as Junnel Mar Alano, married of Block 163, Lot 2, Central Bicutan, Taguig City.
The suspect identified as Dennis Esmeralda, 31, married, businessman and a resident of Block 12, Lot 29, Coneflower St., Metroville, City of Biñan, Laguna, was arrested by the Nasugbu police together with the lifeguards and maintenance crews and the security guards of Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Nasugbu.
The incident transpired at Munting Buhangin Beach Camp in Bgy. Natipuan at 2 p.m., Tuesday.
The victim was hired for a family outing at the said resort.
Police depth revealed that the suspect who was also a guest along with her girlfriend, was under the influence of illegal drugs. According to her girlfriend the suspect had not slept for three days.
She said while they were resting in their room, the suspect went out and for unknown reason shot the victim.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds that caused his instant death.
Further validation by other law enforcement units revealed that the suspect has a pending warrant of arrest for murder under Regional Trial Court Branch 256 of Muntinlupa City, according to the NBI.
