Rider yields gun, held

SAN JOSE CITY – Two men who were flagged down for not wearing helmets were nabbed after one of them yielded a gun during checkpoint operations conducted here on Friday night.

City police head, Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno, identified the alleged gun possessor as Rolando Ragel, 48, farmer, of Purok 4, Salvacion 1, Lupao, Nueva Ecija.

His back-rider, who like him was not wearing a helmet, was identified as Dionisio De Menia, 49, of Purok 4, Salvacion 1, Lupao.

Bruno said his men conducting checkpoint operations along the Maharlika Highway in Bgy. F. E. Marcos collared the duo at 10:30 p.m.

The duo were on board an SYM Bonus 110 motorcycle when they were flagged down. But during a routine inspection, Ragel was seen in possession of a cal. 38 revolver.
