Rizal drug bust leaves police poseur, suspect dead

A POLICE poseur and a drug suspect on Friday died when an anti-narcotics operation turned into an encounter in Pililia, Rizal.

Two other police officers were wounded.

S/Sgt. Michael Cabillo of the Pililla Police Office was shot dead by drug suspect Neser Tena alias “Moymoy.”

Tena was gunned down by other police officers as he tried to take nine kids hostage.

The injured were SSgt. Lazaro Guinao-Wa and Pat. Raul Ryan Santos, both members of the Explosive Ordnance Division/Special Weapons and Tactics of the Rizal PNP.

A team of policemen from the Pililla Police Office under police chief Maj. Florante Yu conducted a drug buy-bust inside Aida’s Farm in Bgy. Bagumbayan in Pililia town at 11:10 a.m. on Friday.

Cabillo, who acted as buyer, had just received  a plastic sachet of shabu when the suspect sensed he was dealing with  lawmen.  

Tena immediately pulled out a gun and shot Cabillo then ran away while firing his gun at the other police officers posted in the area.

The suspect entered an apartment and took nine children hostage.

Police tried to negotiate with Tena for the safe release of the kids.

The negotiation lasted for an hour until some SWAT members were able to sneak into the house and a gunfight ensued.

The suspect shot and wounded two police officers before he was killed  by the assault team.

Recovered at the clash site were the suspect’s gun and the sachet of shabu.
