ANGELES CITY – An uncle of actor Robin Padilla was arrested after he allegedly became arrogant and unruly with police officers who were trying to pacify him for preventing tricycle drivers from entering a subdivision in Barangay Balibago here last Tuesday.

Police Maj. Rolando Doroja, commander of Station 4 here, identified the arrested person as Virgilio Cariño, 65, resident of 1124 Misael St., Diamond Subdivision.

Investigation showed that Cariño was preventing four tricycle drivers from entering the subdivision for some reasons.

This turned into a heated argument, prompting the tricycle drivers to seek assistance from policemen who happened to pass by.

When policemen arrived and tried to pacify the situation by advising both parties to amicably settle their differences, Cariño allegedly “got arrogant and unruly”, prompting the lawmen to arrest him.

When frisked as part of the arrest procedure, the policemen allegedly found nine live ammunition for cal. 9mm and a folding knife inside his gray body bag.

Cariño is the brother of Robin Padilla’s mother.

The suspect was charged before the City Prosecutor’s Office with violation of Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of ammunition, violation of the election gun ban, and resistance and disobedience to a person in authority.
