CAMP GENERAL MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – The six-day Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) by the police netted 225 suspects in Batangas.
Batangas provincial police director Col. Edwin Quilates said the November 4 to November 10 operations aim to lessen crimes in the province.
Quilates said they arrested 29 most wanted persons, another 45 most wanted for different crimes, 101 for illegal drugs, 11 for illegal firearms, 11 for illegal gambling and 15 for illegal trade of petroleum.
He said in Tanauan City, several firearms and ammunition were confiscated during the implementation of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 against suspect Enrique Perez, 63, a businessman of Lot 10, Blk. 3, Ilang-Ilang St., Kaisahan Village in Bgy. Bagumbayan.
Police recovered from Perez one automatic Colt .45 pistol with three magazines, 18 live ammunition, one Armscor cal. .22 rifle with magazine and 10 live bullets, and one Escort Magnum 12 gauge automatic shotgun with 15 live ammunition.
Also seized were shabu worth P101,252 and .32 grams of marijuana worth P706.
Another six high-powered firearms and six guns were seized during the implementation of simultaneous search warrants in the entire province.
The leader of the notorious Dalisay Drug Group, Edison Dalisay, 32 of Bgy. Dumantay, Batangas City, was killed in a shootout with lawmen on Nov. 9 at Sitio Puyo in Bgy. Sta Clara, Batangas City.
