Samal, Morong now COVID-19 free

SAMAL, Bataan-  Two towns in Bataan are now COVID-19 free.

In Samal town, Mayor Aida Macalinao reported Friday that this town is now free from COVID, following the successful recuperation of nine patients who were earlier infected by the coronavirus.

Mayor Macalinao said based on the report from Provincial Health Office, the nine COVID patients of this town have fully recovered.

She thanked Governor Abet Garcia for fully supporting this town by providing relief goods such as rice among others, giving Samaleños a sigh of relief in this times of pandemic.

However, Mayor Macalinao warned her constituents not to be too complacent since the virus is still a big threat.

She reminded her people to always use face masks and observe the physical distancing to avoid being infected by the virus.

Mayor Macalinao said Samal starts putting up sanitizing foot bath mat, alcohol dispenser and hand washing stations in the church, schools and other public facilities.

In Morong,  Mayor Cynthia Estanislao assured  there is no community transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the town, contrary to earlier report.

Amid recording the first COVID-19 case in Morong on Sunday, Estanislao stressed the patient hasn’t come home in the town and didn’t have any physical contact with residents since March 24.

“She is a 34-year-old woman from Barangay Nagbalayong, who is now currently confined at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center,” Estanislao revealed in a statement.
