CABANATUAN CITY – More or less 800 so-called rogue police officers in Central Luzon, including some police colonels have either been reprimanded, suspended or dismissed on various charges since he assumed his post in November last year, said Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel O. Sermonia.
“Actually isa iyan sa priority programs natin, ang bilis ko po pumirma ng dismissal order ngayon, lahat ng mga folders na ibibigay sa akin, isang upuan ko lang pipirmahan ko agad, either suspended, dismissed or reprimanded, kaya’t mag-ingat ang ating kapulisan sapagkat mayroon po tayong programa kung saan rektang nagsusumbong ang ating mamamayan sa mga abusadong pulis,” he told reporters shortly after his presentation of the SACLEO accomplishments of the Nueva Ecija and Aurora provincial police offices on Monday afternoon here.
Sermonia said that this so-called list of 800 police scalawags also included some police colonels in the region, including Nueva Ecija, who are facing various administrative and criminal offenses. He, however, did not name these police colonels.
The PRO3 chief also bared of an upcoming massive reshuffle of police personnel in the region from the provincial level down to the municipal and city levels.
“Kailangan ma-comply nila lahat ang ating mga programa, kailangan maging drug-cleared ang kanilang bayan, at ang kailangan magawa nila ang kanilang trabaho at hindi lang sa anti-crime programs nila kundi pati sa anti-insurgency at ang mai-promote ang morale at welfare ng ating mga kababayan,” Sermonia said, in citing some of the criterias being considered in the impending reshuffle.
