Suspected COVID-19 positive detainee dies in Cavite City

CAVITE CITY. – A man under police custody and a COVID-19 positive died in a hospital here after experiencing difficulty in breathing, Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the detention cell.

Police Lt. Colonel Franco Reglos, acting Chief of Police, identified the man as Alexander Taguinod alias Alex, 43, single, jobless and a resident of Gen. Luna St, Bgy 56, Cavite City.

According to investigation, at about 12:05 a.m., Alex  felt difficulty in breathing.

The police requested assistance from Philippine Red Cross which rushed the victim to Bautista hospital.

Six hours later, Taguinod was declared dead by the attending physician, Dr. Bryan Allen Gomez, due to electrolyte imbalance sepsis.

Cavite City has 8 COVID positive cases as of May 30, 2020.
