Tanod gunned down in Lipa

LIPA City, Batangas — A 52-year-old village watchman was shot dead by three male assassins while performing his duty in Purok 3, Bgy. Balintawak here Friday night.

Lipa City Police Station chief P/LtCol. Ramon L. Balauag, identified the victim as Arturo Dondriano, married, a respected tanod and a resident of this barangay.

The suspects, who were arrested later by authorities, were identified as Romeo Noyna, 19, with live-in partner, welder, native of B. Morada Ave., Bgy 1;  Jaycee Sabadera, 28, married, jobless, and Joshua Cueto, 19, single, student, all residents of Purok 3 of this village.

Balauag said Dondriano was on duty and roving around at the Metro Events Zone bar at 9:45 p.m. when the three armed suspects on board a motorcycle suddenly appeared and shot the victim several times in different parts of the body.

The victim died on the spot while the suspects fled quickly towards an unknown direction.
It was learned that the victim and the suspects had been feuding for a long time.

Balauag ordered his men to pursue the suspects. After several hours, they cornered and handcuffed the suspects in the vicinity of Purok 3 and Tanco Drive, in Bgy. Marawoy here.

The cops recovered one pistol with serial number 10685 from one of the suspects together with the motorcycle.
