Teacher robbed, slain in Catanduanes home

A TEACHER on Sunday was found stabbed dead in his house in  Virac, Catanduanes.

Catanduanes Police Provincial Office spokesperson Maj. Danilo Tenerife identified the victim as Donn Carlos Bagadiong, 28, a teacher at the Catanduanes National High School.

Bagadiong was said to be a member of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community.

The victim was found bloodied and lifeless at the second floor of his house in Bgy. Valencia in Virac at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Tenerife said Bagadiong sustained multiple stab wounds.

Recovered near the victim’s body was a butcher’s knife  blood-stained believed to be the murder weapon.

Investigators are eyeing robbery as  motive in the killing.

Catanduanes Police Provincial Office director Col. Raul Florendo immediately ordered an in-depth investigation into the gruesome murder of the teacher and the arrest of the suspects.
