CABANATUAN CITY -- An 18-year-old student and a 47-year-old man landed in jail when separate court-sanctioned search operations in their houses yielded unlicensed guns in Nueva Ecija last Friday.
In Gapan City, operatives led by Police Maj. Joel M. Dela Cruz nabbed student Frederick Maranan, 18, single, of Purok 3, De Guzman Subd. after his men seized from his house a cal.38 revolver loaded with five bullets.
The operation was made by virtue of a search warrant dated June 6, 2019 which was issued by executive judge Mildred S. Villaroman-Hernal of the Gapan City regional trial court branch 35.
Dela Cruz said the suspect did not resist arrest after the search warrant was implemented at 5:40 a.m.
In Lupao, nabbed was Rodelito Collado, 47, of Bgy. Balbalungao.
Members of the local police and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company arrested the suspect at 6:30 a.m.
Provincial police head, Col. Leon Victor Rosete said his men raided the suspect’s premises armed with a search warrant issued by executive judge Leo Cecilio D. Bautista of the San Jose City regional trial court.
Seized during the raid was a Colt cal.45 pistol with two magazines and 15 live ammunition, Rosete said.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 were slapped against the two arrested suspects before the prosecutor’s office.
