SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija – This sister municipality of Mandaluyong City, the acknowledged “Tiger City of the Philippines” got a livelihood package for the town’s “poorest of the poor” sector, said Mayor Arvin C. Salonga.

Salonga said City Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos donated 240 pieces of “pang-kabuhayan bicycle carts” for distribution to his constituents wanting to earn a living in the town’s remote areas.

“Kumikilos na ang ating Sangguniang Bayan para sa kaukulang resolusyon gayundin ang ating local social welfare office para ma-identify ang ating mga nasa remote areas na kabilang sa poorest of the poor bago ito ma-i-award sa kanila,” said Salonga.

He added that these bicycle food carts will also be refurbished as these were donated by the city government of Mandaluyong under the leadership of Mayor Abalos, with whom this town has an existing sisterhood alliance.

Under this  agreement, Salonga said this kind of endeavor would help enhance the two LGUs’ partnership for the promotion of commerce and industry and social services.
