EIGHT Daesh inspired terrorists were killed while 10 others were wounded as government forces destroyed their lair during their focused military operations the other day in Sultan Sa Barongis, Maguindanao.

This was confirmed by Task Force Central (JTFC) commander Major General Cirilito E. Sobejana.

“Walo yung patay may mga pangalan kami pero yung iba bina -validate pa namin kasi unnamed,” Sobejana said.

Sobejana said the JTFC launched surgical air, artillery and ground operation at around 6 p.m. at the terrorist’s lair at Sitio Tatak, Barangay Tugal, Sultan Sa Barongis, Maguindanao.

He said troops were able to locate and confirmed the lair of the terrorists led by Salahudin Hassan.

Present in the area during the operation were Daulah Islamiya Toraype group sub-commander Abu Toraype, two Arab looking men, a certain Mawiya, a Singaporean national and two Malaysians.

The operation resulted in the destruction of suspected 20-capacity bunkers and foxholes of the Daesh-inspired terrorist groups.

He said government forces were able to capture the main camp of the enemy.

The successful operation was the result of positive information and support provided by the former members of BIFF who surrendered to “JTF Central.”

“We ally the fear of our people and assure them that safety procedures were undertaken and deliberately planned by JTFC giving concern to the safety of the civilian populace”, Sobejana said.

Sobejana stressed that he is very determine to defeat the terrorists.
