Truck driver, helper shot dead in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon---A driver and a helper of a delivery truck died on the spot after they were peppered with bullets by two unidentified male attackers at Bgy. Guis- Guis, here, on Thursday.

Sariaya police commander, Lt. Col. William Angway identified the victims as Julieto Sanoria, 46, driver of EuroGazz Trailer truck and resident of Tundol, Limay, Bataan, and  Charlemagne Mansueto, 38, helper, resident of Limay, Bataan, both employees of Europhil Global Ventures Corp. based in San Marcos, Cabarroguis, Quirino, Province.

Angway, who personally responded at the crime scene, said the incident happened at 4:41 p.m. while the victims were about to enter at Jobert Eatery, situated along Eco-Tourism Road at the said barangay around 17 kilometers away from the police station.

He said the suspects alighted from a gray Honda FD and shot the victims at close range using a long firearm and a pistol killing the duo instantly.

The suspects then boarded the car and sped away.

Scene of the Crime Officers led by Major Dickson Mercado who processed the crime scene recovered 16 empty shells for cal. 9mm rifle, 9 empty shells for cal. 45 pistol, 3 deformed slugs and a fired bullet for unknown caliber.

Angway said the trailer truck with plate no. NBO-7621 came from Calaca, Batangas loaded with asphalt and was bound to Palo, Leyte.

Quezon police director Col. Audie Madrideo ordered Angway to find out the motives behind the killing and have the case resolved.
