SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija -- Two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects shot dead a dump truck driver in front of the horrified eyes of his two helpers while the three were on board their vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.
Chief Insp. Ranny G. Casilla, town police head, identified the fatality as Jonathan Pasion, 29, single, of Bgy. San Bartolome.
He was with his two helpers, identified as Christian Juan, 27, and Jose Enrique, 17, both of Bgy. Mallorca, driving an Isuzu mini dump truck (CMD-527) when he was waylaid by two men riding a red/black motorcycle at 4:20 p.m.
Pasion and company were traversing the road towards the town proper of Peñaranda when they slowed down while approaching a road hump ahead.
Seeing this, Casilla said the unidentified gunman suddenly appeared and shot the victim repeatedly in different parts of the body before escaping on a getaway motorcycle driven by a cohort.
Probers recovered at the crime scene three fired cartridges and a deformed slug for cal. .45 pistol and the victim’s mobile phone.
Casilla said they are still clueless about the motive behind the killing.
