Padre Garcia, Batangas -- Police the other day reported that a widow was shot dead by an unidentified suspect at the veranda of her house in Bgy. Cawongan, here.
Town police chief Senior Insp. Fernando B. Fernando identified the victim as Anicia Camos Ylagan.
Investigation showed that the victim was with her daughter Joan Ylagan Guino busy reading the Holy Bible at 8:30 p.m. on September 22 at the veranda of their house when an unidentified suspect suddenly appeared and for no apparent reason shot her several times in the body, causing her instantaneous death.
Meanwhile, Mataas na Kahoy Municipal Police Station chief Senior Insp. Gerry G. Malipol said a man was found dead by local residents inside the nipa hut in Bgy. Loob at 9:20 p.m. of Sept. 22.
Malipol identified the victim as Diego Burro Barrera, alias Daniel, foreman.
He said suspects Jay R. Merales, Agoy Quinonez, Onio Penaranda and Ronilo Abejero connived with each other in shooting the victim using an unknown type of gun. The suspects hurriedly left the place.
The victim was rushed by responding policemen to Metro San Jose Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival, Malipol said.
