SENATOR Francis “Chiz” Escudero chided the chairman of the National Youth Commission for being ignorant of the laws of the country after urging President Rodrigo Duterte to cancel the scholarship of state university and college students who participate in anti-government protests.
Meanwhile, Senator Manny Pacquiao, who recently brought honor anew to the country by defending his secondary welterweight title by a unanimous decision over American Adrien Broner, also expressed his full support for and confidence in Janella Ejercito whom he described as a dynamic and self-motivated person.
The senator introduced a provision stating that “SK officials in good standing, whether elected or appointed, shall, during their incumbency be entitled to appropriate civil service eligibility, pursuant to rules and regulations issued by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).”
“Our state universities and colleges, instead of taking it against the militant students by dropping them from the roll, should be proud that they are producing young people who are socially aware and concerned not only about themselves but also about the nation,” Guevarra said.
