THE New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the private operator of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has officially opened a centralized hub for ride-hailing services and metered taxis at the NAIA Terminal 3, which is the NAIA’s busiest terminal.

“NAIA Terminal 3 now has a fully-operational centralized transport network vehicle service (TNVS) hub for easier and more convenient access to ride-hailing services, said NNIC General Manager Lito Alvarez, adding that the transport network vehicle service (TNVS) hub involved had a soft launch on December 5, 2024, and became fully operational as of December 8, 2024, just in time for the peak Christmas travel season.

Grab Philippines was the first operator to transition to the facility, providing services even during the soft launch.

Alvarez said this new facility is designed to reduce curbside congestion, improve traffic flow, and enhance the passenger experience. Located within the multi-level parking building at Terminal 3, the 6,000-sqm hub features 401 parking slots, 18 loading bays, and dedicated lanes for TNVs, along with multiple entry and exit points to ensure seamless traffic management.

“With a centralized hub and diverse transportation options, we are bringing more order and efficiency to the airport. This is part of our commitment to making travel smoother and stress-free for every passenger,” he added.

Grab began its full-scale operations at the hub on December 8, setting the stage for other operators to follow and commended the NNIC for its vision to create a better and more efficient airport experience for passengers.

JoyRide, starting operations on December 10, will bring its app-based rides and Super Taxi fleet to the hub while Angkas, through its four-wheeled ride service Angcars, will also join the facility, offering another seamless option for airport passengers.

Alvarez said all three operators have committed to deploying dedicated airport pickup drivers to ensure faster and more efficient service during the busy holiday season. Rates will remain comparable to coupon taxis, maintaining affordability while offering the added convenience of app-based services.

Passengers without ride-hailing apps can also make on-the-spot bookings at dedicated lounges located adjacent to the car park.

This centralized hub is part of NNIC’s broader efforts to modernize and rehabilitate NAIA, addressing long-standing issues such as overcapacity and outdated infrastructure.

Alvarez said that by collaborating with industry leaders, NNIC aims to deliver a world-class airport experience that matches the needs of today’s travelers.
