THERE is no truth to the rumor that some areas or barangays in Caloocan City will be placed on a localized lockdown due to a sudden surge of COVID-19 cases.
In his advisory, Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan said the information circulating on social media about the imminent lockdown of some barangays is absurd.
However, the city chief executive said he will issue an Executive Order requiring the use of a Color Coded Quarantine Pass in supermarkets, groceries and public markets as well as setting curfew hours back to 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
The mayor said he has already discussed the new quarantine guidelines to the barangay captains for them to inform their constituents.
Earlier, Mayor Oca issued an Executive Order requiring all owners or operators of public and private establishments, including government and private offices, commercial, industrial, churches, hotels, motels, inns, supermarkets and markets within the city to adopt and implement the Stay Safe.ph system for logging, recording and monitoring the person entering their premises.
Mayor Oca also advised the public that the city government continues to conduct free swab testing from Monday to Friday starting at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
“Hindi po tayo tumitigil sa ating mass testing at contact tracing. Napatunayan na po natin na isa itong mabisang paraan para labanan ang pandemya. At ngayong may pagtaas muli sa ating mga aktibong kaso, hinihikayat po natin ang mga mamamayan na huwag maging ningas-kugon. Magpa-test po kaagad kung tayo ay nakakaramdam ng sintomas,” Mayor Oca said.
