Occupants of Room 2207 identified

Dacera case update:

GOVERNMENT investigators have identified the occupants of Room 2207 at the City Garden Grand Hotel which was frequently visited by flight attendant Christine Dacera before she was found dead on New Year’s Day.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra yesterday confirmed this as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has started investigating the controversial death.

Guevarra, however, refused to disclose other details pending investigation into the matter.

The NBI knows the name of the person who registered at the reception and the faces/names of the other persons in room 2207,” Guevarra said in a message.

The flight attendant’s friends at Room 2209 have claimed that a common friend introduced them to the occupants of Room 2207.

Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room in Makati City on New Year’s Day following a party with friends the night before.

Hotel personnel tried to revive her before she was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead.

Three suspects were arrested and were provisionally charged with the crime of rape with homicide before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.

But the prosecutor’s office ordered the release of the suspects pending results of a formal preliminary investigation.

Meanwhile, the result of the NBI’s forensic examination on the remains of Dacera will be released within the week.

The NBI will come out with the forensic results in less than a week… (But it’s) more prudent to await further narrative accounts and the results of the NBI forensic examination,” Guevarra said.
