Ormoc Plebiscite Observation – NAMFREL Update #2

NAMFREL Ormoc Plebiscite

Polls closed; canvassing of results commences at the 2022 Ormoc Plebiscite

Polls closed at 3PM and the counting process commenced immediately afterwards. As of this writing, the canvassing process has already started.

There are four (4) Plebiscite Boards of Canvassers (PBOC). A PBOC will canvass and consolidate the results of the voting from Barangay 29. If the YES wins, Barangay Disrict 29 will be renamed to Barangay North. Another PBOC will canvass and consolidate the results of the voting from Barangay Districts 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, and 26. If the YES votes win, these barangays will be merged and the resulting merged barangays will be named Barangay West.

The results of the voting from Disricts 9, 10, 11, 16, 18, 25, and 28 will be canvassed and consolidated by a third PBOC. A YES vote in these barangays will lead to the merger of said barangays to be named Barangay East.

Finally, a 4th PBOC will canvass and consolidate the vote results from Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 15, 17, 23, and 27 and these barangays will be merged into Barangay South if a YES vote wins in these barangays.

Status quo will simply be maintained if a NO vote wins in any of the barangay groupings.

First to arrive at the canvassing center at the Ormoc City Hall are the results from Clustered Precinct Number 6 from District No. 6. The results from District 6 have been turned over to the reception and custody group of the PBOC for South.
