A MEMBER of the Villegas Drug Group was arrested after some 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P136,000 were seized from him in joint anti-illegal drug operations on Wednesday in Calamba City, Laguna.
Laguna Police Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II, in a report to CALABARZON Regional Director PBGen. Felipe Natividad, identified the arrested suspect as Marvin Basilisa Galicio, 35, of Purok 6 Bgy. Uno, Calamba City.
Police said Galicio was also listed in the city as a high value individual for illegal drug activities.
The joint operation was conducted by the 2nd District Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO)and Calamba City Police at about 8:15 a.m. in Purok 7, Bgy. Uno, this city, Calamba City.
The suspect was nabbed after selling suspected shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for a genuine P 1000 bill and four P 1000 budol money.
Seized from the suspect were P 1,730 in cash, twk lighters, a Blue Vivo Y11 cellphone, blue coin purse (Ultra Mega) containing four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a Kawasaki Barako motorcycle.
The confiscated evidence will be brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory Office in Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba City for laboratory examination. Charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165 are being prepared against the suspect for referral to the Office of the City Prosecutor in Calamba City, Laguna.
