P170K shabu seized from 2 drug couriers in QC

AUTHORITIES arrested two suspected drug couriers and confiscated over P170,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust Sunday morning in Caloocan City.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Police Brigadier General Danilo P. Macerin identified the arrested suspects as Manuel Tan, 46, Lawin Maliwat, 18, Lorenzo Tobias, 42, Kairoding Sumagina, 27 and Hodaifa Abubacar, 20, all residents of Caloocan City.

A report shows that information was gathered by operatives of District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) and District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) regarding the drug peddling activities of the suspects which was further validated by a series of intelligence gathering and case build-up.

A buy-bust in coordination with PDEA RO NCR was set at about 2 a.m. on January 17, 2021, on Lot 35, Blk.66 Phase 12, Bgy. 188, Tala, Caloocan City.

An undercover cop bought P500 suspected shabu from the suspects that led to their arrest.

Confiscated from the suspects were 25 grams of shabu valued at P179,000 and the buy-bust money.

The suspects will be charged with Violation of R.A. 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
