P2M MJ destroyed in Kalinga

THE Kalinga Provincial Police Office destroyed more than P2 million worth of marijuana plants in Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga, PCol. Davy Vicente M. Limmong, Kalinga PPO director, reported yesterday.

Limmong said joint personnel of the Kalinga PPO and other units led by PLt. Leobert Cadingan, deputy chief of Tinglayan MPS, PLt. Alex Malasi, OIC Lubuagan MPS implemented “Oplan Alpha Giggle Smoke” that led to the discovery of two marijuana plantations at the mountainous area in Bgy. Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga at around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The personnel discovered the first site, a public lot with an estimated land area of 1,000 square meters planted with 6,000 fully grown marijuana plants with a DDB value of P1,200,000.

The same personnel discovered the second site which has an estimated area of 800 square meters planted with 4,800 fully grown marijuana plants with a DDB value of P960,000.

The marijuana plants in the said sites were mixed with vegetable plants.

The total land area of the discovered marijuana plantations is estimated to be 1,800 square meters and planted with 10,800 fully grown marijuana plants with a DDB value of P2,160,000.

The marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite.
