P2M shabu seized in Taguig

TWO known ‘high-value individuals’ in Metro Manila were arrested by combined agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Southern Police District after they conspired to sell 300 grams of shabu worth more than P2 million to an undercover officer in Taguig City on Wednesday afternoon, PDEA chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva announced yesterday.

Villanueva said the suspects identified as Marlon Mgcalinawan and David Parong are now undergoing questioning at the PDEA national headquarters in Quezon City.

He added that the suspects yielded 300 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill which they received from the poseur during the buy-bust operation along Manuel L. Quezon Avenue in New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City past 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Members of the PDEA Special Enforcement Service and National Capital Region Office and the SPD and Taguig City Police Station were involved in the successful sting.

Villanueva said the two suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
