P3.8M drugs seized from 7 suspects in QC, Caloocan

AUTHORITIES seized P3,800,000 worth of illegal drugs and arrested seven drug suspects in separate buy-busts in Caloocan City and Quezon City.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, PBGEN Ronnie S. Montejo identified the arrested suspects in the first operation as Christian Jerico Refuerzo, 27, John Yecla, 25, both from Brgy. 167, Llano, Caloocan City, Ronnel Corpen, 21 of Brgy. Gulod Novaliches and Bruce Geslani, 22 of Vista Verde, Caloocan City.

Montejo said the arrest of the suspects is a result of an intelligence-driven drug operation by PS-4.

Operatives set the buy-bust at about 12 midnight on November 15, 2020 in an apartment located on Lot 4, Block 6 St., Gillian Hills, Bgy. 167, Llano, Caloocan City.

A police acted as a poseur buyer and bought P14,500 worth of marijuana from the suspects who were immediately arrested.

Aside from the buy-bust money, seized from the suspects were 26 kilograms of marijuana valued at P3,120,000, weighing scale and a cellular phone used in their drug transaction.

In the second buy-bust operation, PS4 operatives arrested Justin Vein Rosales, 24, of Bgy. Kaligayahan, Jhovel Canon, 28, and Mark Dee Jay Lontoc, 24, both of Taguig City at about 4:30 a.m., November 15, 2020 at Kingpoint Ave. corner Quirino Highway, Bgy. Bagbag Novaliches. Seized from the suspects were 100 grams of shabu valued at P680,000, the buy-bust money and two cellular phones.

The suspects will be charged with violation of R.A. 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
