THE National Bureau of Investigation – Rizal District Office (NBI-RIZDO) announced the confiscation of 45,125 pieces of “Tyrolit” products worth P8 million during an operation in Rizal.
NBI Director Jaime Santiago said the bureau was able to obtain a search warrant from the Manila RTC which became the basis for the raid on the property owned by Kelvin and Anna Chua last June 28.
Found in the said place were boxes of the said fake ‘Tyrolit’ products including a disk and grinder.
The operation was based on a complaint received by the NBI which stated that the suspects were behind the proliferation of the said fake products.
The allegation was confirmed after a test-buy was done by the NBI in the establishments owned by the Chuas.
Charges for violation of R.A. 8293 or intellectual property code have been filed against the suspects.
