P90.4M road concreting project in Ecija to start soon

SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija — Residents of this first-class town can now heave a sigh of relief with the upcoming construction of the San Mariano-Luyos Road after the said P90.4 million road-concreting project was bidded out last month.

Municipal Mayor Arvin C. Salonga said he expects its construction to start soon after the provincial road project was awarded to Arctic Builder and Supplier, the winning contractor, at a bid price of P 90,453,831.35.

The mayor said the provincial government led by Gov. Aurelio M. Umali will bankroll its construction. The road project will also involve the construction of two vertical drainage systems, added Salonga.

Municipal administrator Atty. Hilario “Larry” Ortiz said the upcoming construction of the San Mariano-Luyos Road was an “answered prayer” from the Umali-led administration amid numerous complaints from local residents affected by the already damaged road network.

It would be recalled that Gov. Umali and his younger brother, Vice Gov. Emmanuel Antonio won overwhelmingly over their rivals in this town during the 2019 local polls and for which, the governor said the town of San Antonio will be one of the top priorities of the provincial government in the implementation of their infrastructure projects.
