The country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines (PAL), bagged the top spot as the most punctual airline among Asia Pacific carriers for the month of August 2025.
PAL also bagged the same recognition in April 2025 and also as the second most punctual airline in January 2025 and October 2024. PAL ranked third place in March 2025, November 2024 and December 2024.
With an 89.37% On-Time Performance (OTP) rating, PAL’s punctuality rating is eight percentage points higher than the average 80.83% rating attained by the top 10 Asia-Pacific airlines in August.
This is according to London-based Cirium, a leading aviation analytics company that has been tracking the on-time performance of airlines and airports around the world to produce punctuality reporting for global aviation.
For on-time performance, Cirium tracks a flight as being on-time if the aircraft arrives at the gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. The arrival data is a standard reliability metric reflecting the desire of travelers to reach their destinations on time and the need for airlines to comply with assigned airport slot times.
“We laud the efforts of our engineers, ground and flight teams for working towards on-time performance through operational efficiency. In partnership with our aviation stakeholders, we remain steadfast in our commitment to further enhance on-time performance, a crucial factor for operational reliability, and customer satisfaction,” said Capt. Roland Narciso, PAL Senior Vice President for the Operations Group.
