THE country’s flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) successfully launched its new Manila-Cauayan-Manila service.
The inaugural service departed Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 1:25 p.m. PR 2018 was operated with an 86-seater De Havilland Dash 8-400 Next Generation aircraft and was expected to arrive at Cauayan Airport at 2:30 p.m.
PAL President and CEO Capt. Stanley Ng, who led the event, said the flag carrier celebrated the inaugural flight with a send-off ceremony at Manila’s NAIA Terminal 2, attended by various local government officials and aviation stakeholders.
According to Ng, the new PAL service offers daily flights for the convenience of traveling tourists, businessmen and families. Replacing a land trip of more than 10 hours from Manila, the flights promote Cauayan as gateway to Isabela province, known for its festivals, including the annual Bambanti and Gawagaway-yan events.
“We are pleased to introduce our new Manila-Cauayan-Manila route to serve the residents of Isabela province,” said PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent Ang.

“Cauayan City is a jump point of tourism in the Northern East of the Philippines. By opening this new route, we are also expecting the economic growth that it will bring to our city and our province,” Cauayan City Mayor Hon. Caesar “Jaycee” Dy, Jr. said.
