MANGALDAN, Pangasinan – Six groups of farmers in the 4th District of Pangasinan received 18 hand tractors on Monday (February 15) as part of the farm mechanization program of the Department of Agriculture and PhilMech.
The distribution of hand tractors held at ULOPAN Center in Buenlag, Mangaldan was led by Presidential Adviser for Northern Luzon Secretary Raul L. Lambino, along with Mayor Marilyn De Guzman Lambino, and Engr. Roger Calderon from PhilMech.
Lambino said one of the priorities of President Rodrigo Duterte is to raise the quality of the agricultural sector throughout the country, and so the distribution of modern machinery to farmers is being carried out.
“Mapalad kayong mga magsasaka dahil mayroon tayong Presidente Duterte na nagmamalasakit na maiangat ang inyong kabuhayan, at nandiyan din na kaagapay ng ating Pangulo sina Agriculture Secretary William Dar at Senator Bong Go na tunay ang malasakit at serbisyo nila sa bayan,” said Lambino.
The beneficiaries are the groups of Guesang Farmers Association Inc.; Timpuyog Ti Mannalon Inmalog Norte, San Fabian, Pangasinan Inc.; Mangaldan Green Yard Farmers’ Association Inc.; Masigasig Alitaya Farmers and Irrigators Association Inc.; Barangay Bolo San Jacinto Farmers Association Inc.; and Mauksoy Salisay Irrigators Association Inc.
Mayor Lambino, on the other hand, assured the municipality’s continued support to the farmers to improve their living conditions in Mangaldan.
Engr. Calderon, who represented PhilMech Director Baldwin G. Jallorina said more machinery is coming for Pangasinan farmers.
