Partido Reporma Chairman Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson Visits Pag-Asa Island

Partido Reporma chairman and standard-bearer Panfilo “Ping” Lacson visited Pag-asa Island and Puerto Princesa City for a consultation with local residents and a meeting with the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Command (WesCom).

The mission is part of his commitment to have a deeper understanding at the issues involving national security over the West Philippine Sea amid the recent standoff in Ayungin Shoal between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Coast Guard of China.

Only selected personnel from Partido Reporma, the Office of Senator Lacson in the Senate, and other members of his team were allowed to join the presidential aspirant during his closely guarded trip to Pag-Island, Kalayaan on the advice of the Department of National Defense.

Lacson is the incumbent chairman of the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, Peace, Unification and Reconciliation. He is expected to get a briefing from the AFP WesCom on issues concerning the West Philippine Sea.

The Partido Reporma chairman is expected to conduct a brief press conference upon his arrival in Manila today at 430pm at the Universal Aviation Hangar, Pasay City. (Access through Delta Gate).
