Mayor Honey Lacuna is urging property owners in Manila to avail of discount by paying their taxes on or before January 31, 2023.

Lacuna directed City Treasurer Jasmin Talegon to give a ten percent discount on Real Property Tax payments for those who will pay taxes for their properties without delinquencies.

Talegon said the ten percent discount will be given for those who will settle their dues from January 1 to 31 only and that from February 1 to March 31, no discount and penalty will be given to payment of real property taxes.

The mayor said that payments may be made through the City Treasurer’s Office or via the Go Manila app at www.cityofmanila.ph.

Just the same, she is encouraging real property owners in the city to pay online, saying its implementation is now a notch better with the issuance of e-statement of account (SOA) and e-receipt.

Lacuna said that with the online system, one can just use a cellphone, Ipad, or computer to apply for RPT and using the app, can just click away until payment is done and a corresponding receipt had been issued.

With regard to manual payment, Lacuna cited the hassle of having to go all the way to the Manila City Hall and once there, inquiring where to proceed to pay their RPT and then having to line up to get their SOA and then again, to pay.

“Ito po ang iniiwasan natin kaya ine-encourage natin ang ating mga kababayan na gusto nang magbayad ng RPT to go online kasi ang kagandahan ng online, may binibigay nang e-SOA at e-receipt.,” she said.

“Once you have entered the Go Manila app, go to RPT payment where you will enter your tax declaration number and property identification number, from which your SOA will appear and then, you can choose whether to pay quarterly or yearly”, Lacuna explained.

Lacuna said that the taxpayer may choose the mode of payment either through money transfer, bank or GCash after which he will be issued an e-OR or e-receipt.
