Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna announced that the payout of the city’s allowances for persons with disability (PWDs), minors with disability (MWDs) and solo parents that began on December 6 will continue up to December 26, 2024.
Manila Department of Social Welfare chief Re Fugoso said that those concerned may inquire with their barangays or visit the social media sites of the MDSW or the Manila Public Information Office.
There, the schedule of payouts for every barangay and district may be found for proper guidance of the claimants.
It was learned that the allowances can be claimed in designated venues after which the beneficiaries who failed to show up in the barangays may still get their allowances in Manila City Hall from December 26 up to the end of the year.
Claimants, Fugoso said, should bring their original and photocopied PWd or solo parent IDs and barangay certificates. Each will receive P3,000 covering their allowances for the past six months.
Those who have queries may contact the MDSW office nearest to them. Help desks have also been put in the payout venues to answer inquiries.
There are 16,374 solo parents, 5618 minors with disability and 31,343 persons with disability in Manila.
Under Ordinance 8991, they are all entitled to a P500 monthly monetary allowance from the local government of Manila.
