THE Provincial Bus Operators Association of the Philippines (PBOAP) and Metro Manila Bus Association have expressed full support for proposals to amend the colorum policy of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
“We agree with the pronouncement of Atty. Ariel Inton and Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection (LCSP),” said Engineer Alex Yague, PBOSP Executive Director.
“It’s about time to amend this unrealistic policy, talagang panahon na lalo nat’ nasa pandemic pa rin tayo.”
The Metro Manila Bus Association “appealed to the DOTr and LTFRB to release all the impounded buses, taxi, and vans.”
“Kawawa ang mga operators ang mga banks, nabulok na lahat ang mga units,” said the Metro Manila Bus Association.
The Public Commuters and Motorists Alliance (PCMA) also backed Inton’s appeal for the concerned agencies to amend the colorum policy.
Inton and the LCSP have appealed to the DOTr and LTFRB to immediately amend the colorum policy under the Joint Administrative Order 2014-01 implemented by DOTr and LTFRB.
