EFFECTIVE April 13, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will be on heightened alert in view of the expected surge of passengers who will be going to the provinces for the Holy Week.

The alert status will begin on Palm Sunday and end on Easter Sunday on April 20,2025.

This is to ensure the security of the passengers who will travel by sea during the Lenten season.

“This influx presents challenges, such as overcrowding, vessel overloading, and heightened risks of maritime-related crimes,” said PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan.

Meanwhile, the PCG will implement the “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos” in coordination with other government security forces.
