PDEA agents seize over P500K drugs, arrest 3 in Las Piñas

A PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-led anti-narcotics operation in Las Piñas City on Saturday noon resulted in the arrest of three suspected drug personalities and the seizure of over P500,000 worth of prohibited drugs including the designer drug called ‘Ecstasy’ and several grams of shabu and marijuana, PDEA chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva said yesterday.

Arrested during the sting at no. 28 Sampaguita Road in Pillar Village, Las Piñas City 12 noon Saturday were Jeremy Carl Alvaro,29; his brother Jon Steeven,34; and Kiana Kathrina Faith Hernaez, a 22-year old freelance model.

Villanueva said that recovered during the operation were 145 pieces of Ecstasy tablets worth P200,000; 230 pieces of capsulized Ecstasy popularly known as ‘Molly’ valued at P345,000; a bottle containing around 250ml of liquid Ecstasy, 10 grams of cocaine, 30 grams of marijuana seeds, .4 grams of shabu, around 9 grams of hemp wick, 19 grams of cannabis candy, 5 grams of Kush, 11 pieces of germinated Kush seeds and nearly 18 grams of suspected psilocybin.

Also recovered during the sting were two weighing scales, one mortar and pestle with traces of Ecstasy, various drug paraphernalia and identification cards and the buy-bust money. The suspects’ white Toyota Fortuner and gray Honda City were impounded by the PDEA.

Villanueva said that the operation was conducted by members of the PDEA Southern District Office with the assistance of the NAIA-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group and the Southern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit and the Las Piñas City Police Station DEU which are both under Brigadier General Eliseo DC Cruz.

Charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are already being prepared against the suspects who are now being held at the PDEA lock-up facility, said Villanueva.
