Women power to promote the habit of saving in banks. The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) spotlighted the important role of women at home and in the society in advancing the habit of saving in banks during the launch of the National Women’s Month at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on March 5, 2025. Aligning with this year’s subtheme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,”, the PDIC, through its Be A Wise Saver campaign, shared the basic and important tenets of wise saving and responsible banking during its financial literacy session led by PDIC information officer Gerardo Franco (inset). Also discussed was the implementation of the new maximum deposit insurance coverage of P1 million effective on March 15, 2025 that will provide enhanced protection to the depositing public.
The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was established on 22 June 1963 by Republic Act 3591 to protect depositors and help maintain stability in the financial system.
The PDIC is an attached agency to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas; and a member of the Financial Sector Forum, the Financial Stability Coordination Council, and the Financial Inclusion Steering Committee.
