Pedicab driver shot by landlord

A 54-year-old pedicab driver was shot and seriously wounded by his landlord Thursday morning in Malabon City.

Iseid Rafola, of Block 43, Lot 6, Phase 3 E2, Salinas St., Bgy. Longos sustained a gunshot wound in the back and was still under observation at Tondo Medical Center while the suspect, identified as Abeking Aquino, alias “Berting” immediately escaped and is now the subject of police manhunt operation.

Malabon police homicide investigator P/SSgt. Jose Romeo Germinal said the victim and his friends were having a drinking spree inside his rented room Wednesday evening when the suspect, irritated by the noise, admonished his tenant that resulted in their heated altercation.

At around 10 a.m, Thursday, the victim roused from sleep when he heard someone was kicking his door and when he peeped from the window, he saw his landlord in front of his door while holding an improvised gun.

Moments later, the suspect, using a duplicate key, barged inside and without a word shot the victim once, hitting him in the back, then fled from the scene.
