THE Manila Police District (MPD) arrested a Filipino-Indian for allegedly blackmailing an 18-year-old lady who have fake nude photos in his possession in Port Area, Manila the other night.
Now detained at the MPD-Police Station 13 is suspect Balnit Turla Singh, 26, of Block 17, Baseco Compound, Port Area.
His alleged victims, aged 18 and 14, told probers that they met the suspect via Facebook until the suspect and the elder victim had a relationship.
Later on, the suspect asked for her nude photos and when the victim declined, he came up with edited, purported naked pictures of the victim which he threatened to post on social media if she will not give him a real nude photo of hers.
The suspect reportedly threatened to kill the victim’s younger sister if she will not give in to his demand.
The victim decided to seek police help and the MPD-Station 13 laid out an entrapment operation.
The police contacted the suspect via social media and arranged a meet up at the Baseco Compound where he was arrested.
According to the police, Singh had said that he did what he did because he always gets rejected by his love prospects, adding that he did not mean to harm moreso kill anyone and that his threats were empty.
He was charged with violation of RA 10175 (Anti-Cybercrime Law) and RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and Voyeurism Act) in relation to RA 7610 (Child Abuse Law) before the Manila City Prosecutors’ Office.
