PH renews solidarity with victims of MH17 tragedy

THE Philippines renewed its solidarity with the governments of nations who lost their citizens in the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 and hoped that justice be accorded to those who perished.

“With deep sadness, the Philippines remembers today the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 over the eastern region of Ukraine on 17 July 2014,” Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr.  said in a statement.

A Filipina and her two children were among 295 other passengers of the commercial flight who died in the incident.

“As a grieving nation, the Philippines on this solemn day renews its solidarity with the governments of other Grieving Nations who lost citizens in that ill-fated flight, and offers its prayers to the families and loved ones of the victims as they continue to suffer this insurmountable loss.“

“The Philippines remains deeply saddened by this regrettable incident, and is hopeful that the victims of this tragedy be accorded the justice they rightfully deserve,” Locsin added.
