UniTeam senatorial candidate Harry Roque said the Philippines should build relationships with all countries to help the government rebuild the economy after the pandemic.
Roque said that protection of the country’s sovereignty should be pushed.
Roque said he agreed with the “friend to all, enemy to none” policy espoused by President Rodrigo Duterte when he joined world leaders at the 35th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in 2019.
Roque, a former presidential spokesperson, also said that the Philippines should befriend China as it would be the next economic power despite the dispute on the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
Earlier, UniTeam’s presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. assured Filipinos that his foreign policy would be in the interest of Filipinos and the country should he win in the May elections.
