PNP gets 50 new light transport vehicles

THE Philippine National Police leadership on Monday morning unveiled to the public 50 Light Transport Vehicles newly-procured by the organization.

The P 64.55 million worth of brand-new wagons will be used for administrative purposes by the police force, newly-retired PNP chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa said on the eve of his 56th birthday.

PNP Director for Comptrollership, Major Gen. Marni C. Marcos Jr., also the current chairman of the PNP National Headquarters Bids and Awards Committee presented to the PNP chief and his command group the new vehicles sourced from the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) 2020.

Marcos said the new mobility assets will be distributed to the PNP Command Group, Directorial Staff, National Support Units, the Office of the Secretary of Interior and Local Government, the PNP Peace Process and Development Center, Philippine National Police Academy and Philippine National Police Training Institute.

Acting PNP Director for Logistics, Brigadier Gen. Angelito N. Casimiro and members of the procuring entity were also present during the blessing of the vehicles.

Gen. Gamboa said the vehicles were purchased as part continuing effort of the PNP leadership and the national government to further modernize the 209,000-strong police force and help improve its ‘move, shoot, communicate and investigate’ capabilities.
