Pokwang still lost in translation with Lee

Pokwang

POKWANG just celebrated her 48th birthday and shared on her vlog how she misses her daughter Malia’s nanny, Yaya Gina, who went home to their province and decided not to return to Manila anymore due to the pandemic.

“As a mom, I can understand, nag-aalala ‘yung family niya sa kanya,” says Pokey. “Sayang kasi we really like her, she can be trusted as a good yaya, but then may anak din siyang naiwan sa probinsiya, so naiintindihan ko. Andaming naging epekto nitong pandemic sa’ting lahat and we have to learn how to let go sa mga tao o bagay for their own good.”

Pokey remains busy hosting two shows on TV5, “Chika, BESH” and “Fill in the Bank”. What can she say to the criticism that she, Pauleen Luna and Ria Atayde are just imitating the former talk show on ABS-CBN, ‘Magandang Buhay’, and they don’t have good chemistry yet.

“Marami namang ibang morning shows in the past hosted by women, nauna na ‘yung ‘Sis’ sa GMA, so hindi naman basta gayahan lang ito,” she says. “As for the chemistry, darating naman ‘yan. Maski ‘yung ‘Magandang Buhay’, nangapa rin sila noong una (Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros and Karla Estrada). Nade-develop naman ‘yung chemistry as the show goes along. Ang importante, kami nina Pauleen and Ria, we really like each other and we all want to improve as hosts para mapaganda ang show namin.”

No doubt that among them, she has the most life experiences, having worked as a dancer in Japan, having a child there with a Japanese guy, making it in the Philippines, and now having another kid with an American. Since she is the most senior and the natural comedienne among them, she can also be considered the “bangka” or team leader.

When she had her recent birthday presentation in “Chika, BESH”, she couldn’t help but cry tears of joy when her inamorato, Lee ,suddenly popped up to greet her and praised her for being such a good and generous mother and partner to him. She said she’s very lucky to have a partner in Lee who’s very considerate and even cooks for her.

“Yun nga lang, nahihirapan talaga ako sa English kaya kapag nagsasagutan kami, tumatalikod na lang ako kasi nauubusan ako ng sasabihin,” she says. “Pero later, siya pa ang susuyo sa akin at tatawagin ako, halika na, kumain na tayo, in Tagalog ha. Puro pasasalamat talaga ako kay Lord. Very powerful ang dasal, e. Kasi ayan, andaming walang trabaho, pero ako dala-dalawa pa ang bagong shows ko. Hindi talaga ako puwedeng magreklamo.”

TWO actresses gave birth to their first borns on the same day, Thursday, September 10: Coleen Garcia, wife of Billy Crawford, and Dianne Medina, wife of Rodjun Cruz. What’s nice about them is they’re not like other stars who chose to hide their baby from the public and wouldn’t even share their picture.

Both Coleen and Dianne, and their respective husbands, posted their photos with their newborn babies right away. Coleen and Dianne both had a baby boy.

Coleen had a waterbirth right at home after four hours of labor, very brave without using any pain killers. She chose to give birth the natural way, just like Max Collins before her.

But Max has an advantage in that her husband, Pancho Magno, is also a certified nurse. Coleen quickly posted her experience in her social media account:

“There’s so much I wanna say, but for now, I just want to praise God for being so so good. Thank you, Lord, for our beautiful Amari. For a while there, towards the end, I was really regretting the decision to skip the pain killers lol but I’m so happy I did it! No tearing, thanks to the water.”

Dianne gave birth at St. Luke’s Medical Center. They will call their son Rodolfo Joaquin Diego III. She posted their photos online and wrote: “My Answered Prayer, my Baby Rodolfo Joaquin Diego III. Thank you, my Almighty Father [thank you emoji] September 10, 2020 1:55 am [baby emoji] please follow our baby @babyjoaquinilustre. Thank you Dra @drmaygonzaga (her OB) we love you.”

Rodjun also wrote his own personal greeting for his son: “Welcome to the World Rodolfo Joaquin Diego III. I Love you so much my Son @babyjoaquinilustre! I will hold your hand Forever & guide you every step of the way! #AnsweredPrayer Thank you Lord. #BabyJoaquinILustre.”

To the new parents, our congratulations. We pray that your babies will grow up to both be good persons, healthy and strong. Next to deliver their first born child are Sheena Halili and Assunta de Rossi.
